When Peter, a humble waiter in Paris, volunteers to care for his friends’ pets, a cat and an exotic orange fish, things get complicated when the pets go missing. Now Peter must search for the missing pets before his friends get back from vacation. Will he find the animals in time? Decide for yourself as to what happens to the elusive pets while exploring Paris with Peter and learning a new language at the same time. This story is not just for those who love mysteries but also for those who love to learn new languages too.
Marianna Bergues, a 23-year-old student, lives in Narberth, Pennsylvania. She has always loved to write. When she was seven years old, her father told her the story about his friend in Paris who volunteered to watch his friends’ pets. Her mother (Roseland Bergues) encouraged her to write a draft of the story. The story was written, stored away, and forgotten. In 2014, the rediscovered story caught Marianna’s interest and imagination again. Both her mother and father encouraged her to finish the story and share it with others. She gives credit for the story to her father, Christian Bergues, who was born and raised in France. It is because of him this book exists. It was his inspiration and co-authoring that made this book possible.

I am thrilled to receive my copy of the Russian/French/English version of the cat, the fish, and the waiter. I am an adult language learner who is always looking for ways to refresh my skills. This charming trilingual volume is perfect for reviving old reading and listening skills in French and Russian. Alongside the text are wonderful illustrations which bring the tale to life. There is an index in the back of the book to assist in learning new words. What a fun way to learn new languages for students of any age!
The book was swiftly shipped and carefully packaged with a nice handwritten note.
Although the paperback copy has a sturdy cover, you may want to order the hardback for increased longevity of the book– you will enjoy it for many years.. Do order the CD to complete the learning experience.
Merci beacoup to Mariana for such an entertainging learning experience! I will be ordering additional copies in different languages for my nieces and nephews.

I find this to be a great well-thought-out product for kids. These people really love kids and are concerned for their education.
the book can be read by adults too since you are really practicing reading a foreign language. ! The CD or audio files are a must if the language is new to you. The children should listen first since it is all new to them. Well for me, I am an adult, I just wanted to learn something from my ancestral background. My heritage, and keep my brain going at the same time! Thanks, Cat Fish Waiter! I will be back!

The concept of the CatFishWaiter that uses three languages at the same time strikes me to purchase the book for my kids. And the book is awesome & my kids love to read it.

This book is an investment, in fluent language reading. Whether in English, French, Latin, or I guess any other language.
it is a learning tool, to enjoy years to come. You can gauge if your child is interested in learning new things, new languages, etc, and see how you can help them learn more using more sophisticated programs. I am going to give my child a challenge to read through this book this year and read along with the narration. it can help set the sails for a future career.
